The Program Works
Sound Taxi is an excellent program even with thye activation problems. I managed to get Dmitri to supply two new activation codes after I had to reinstall the program and change some hardware. I also feel that if we do need to reinstall the cost of the program far covers the benefits recived in copying DRM files. I have now got ST on both my workstation and my laptop but I mhave now come across the R&R Instakller bug to which I will be contacting ST Support and yes I may eventually get an answer

SoundTaxi now repackaged as "All Music Converter"
I just ran across the "All Music Converter" on the net. The interface is identical to Sound-Taxi and is put out by Ramka Ltd. What a surprise! Does it work any better? I do note a couple of improvements to my version like handling of AA files.

Eating Crow...
Ok, I take it (almost) all back. The Sound Taxi guys FINALLY wrote and sent a new activation code... and it worked! Conversions now underway. So I'll change my judgment from them being a slimey operation to just being too slow on customer responsiveness.

They responded today... you should STILL stay away
Sound Taxi software support finally wrote back today. Unfortunately, their message was to say I should make sure I "enter the Activation Code in the Activation Code box not in a DIFFERENT box." And THAT was the extent of their "technical support" for a problem where their Activation Code no longer works since I changed my hard drive.
So you buy a License Code from them and install Sound Taxi on your machine. The software interprets a System Code for your machine. Then when you first run it, it asks for the Validation Code, which you get by hitting a "Get Activation Code" button. If System Code + License Code + Activation Code are in sync, it runs. But woe betide the poor sucker like me who changes my hardware, hence triggering a new System Code.
So far, they have not been willing to provide a new Activation Code and/or License Code to match their new interpretation of my System Code.
Again, I would strongly recommend staying away from this program.

Stay away from this program
If you have to reinstall, the won't send you a new activation code or commuicate with you. Slimey operation. My advice is stay away.

Soundtaxi - Vista
Received my new key code today so I could run it on my Vista Dell XPS700 system. It performed great and coverted 50 .WMA protected files to MP3 with no problems. When I run it it is the only application running so I never have a problem. I don't advise using other applications at the same time especially if they use the sound card. Quality was great..... Thanks...

It has been 3 weeks with no reply. What's up??? Do they have support???

Unfair charge
I tried soundtaxi and it seemed to work fine so I bought it. Little surprise, they added a "sales tax" charge which I should not have been charged. They do not respond to my communication. Now, on top of that, it has stopped working. I'm sorry I bought this program.

Save your money you the activation code changes if you have a problem
This program works but if you have to resinstall try getting a new activation code. I had trouble with my computer and installed a new bigger hard drive. The activation code did not work I contacted SoundTaxi and they send me a new code a few days later. At the end of June I reformatted my computer again and requested a activation code July 25 I have not heard from them. I have paid more money for software and never had this much trouble. When you buy software you put the license in and nothing else. This is such a nuisance and I mentioned that in my email yesterday. So the program does the job but pray nothing happens to your computer and by the way the comment about Goodbye SoundTaxi for the record my computer invoice has RegNow/Digital River on the top of my SoundTaxi order so I think they are some how connected.

Works well... for awhile
I bought the soundtaxi platinum version a week or so ago, which will let me convert songs in their entirety for awhile, but inexplicitely after 27-30 songs it pops up with R&R Installer. This requires me to restart the computer. After restarting, it will only allow me to convert 27-30 songs before I have to go through the whole process again. Please let me know if anyone knows how to resolve this problem. If this is an easy fix, I recommend soundtaxi, otherwise, I would pursue other options.

Goodbye SoundTaxi, hello Tunebite
Given the total lack of repsonse from SoundTaxi, RegNow has promptly refunded me the purchase price. I have since purchased TUNEBITE from Digital River GmbH (element 5) which I am very happy with. They are a VERY professonal company, which is a huge change from the black hole of communication surrounding SoundTaxi.

SoundTaxi converted songs skipping
I had the same problem with most of my SoundTaxi converted songs skipping briefly for a second during playback. I happened to notice that those songs that I had converted individually (one at a time) did NOT have skips. Apparently, when queuing long lists of songs to be converted something goes wrong and skips are inserted in random places - it's certainly not consistent. I had to go back and re-convert them one at a time. Quite a pain, but now I know.

SoundTaxi does not communicate with its customers
Thanks, Matt.
I've still not heard back from anybody at SoundTaxi -- neither, I suspect, has RegNow, through whom I purchased the software.
It's interesting to learn that your friend has had a similar experience: no licence code and no communication from them. I can only guess that they are either out of business, or completely incompetent. I suppose that's what I get for dealing with a mob based in the former USSR.

My SoundTaxi Experience
I purchased SoundTaxi in May. I first tested out the trial on my XP laptop and it converted the song to 30 seconds and sounded great. Then I purchased the full version and I immediately got the code via email and it worked fine.
In June I emailed support at support@soundtaxi.info and about 4 days later got a response from a person named Dmetri. I got a reply from him and responded back a few times with him.
I have converted 1000's of songs with the software and think its great!
Then a week or so ago I had a friend try to purchase the software and he received no code. Then the website disappeared for 3 days. It showed back up a few days later with 2 versions of SoundTaxi. A new version that converts 40x faster for $24.90.
He as well as I have emailed the company several times to get a response for the code and we have heard nothing back.
I find it strange that they would come out with a new version and not respond to emails.
I called RegNow the merchant processor of SoundTaxi on their 800 number listed on their site. I spoke with a rep named Nicole and she told me that they would try to contact the company. If they didn't hear back within 2 days they would refund you your money. All you needed to provide was your order number.
So you might try the 800 number if you have tried purchasing with no luck.
I want to put SoundTaxi on my home laptop but when I downloaded the trial version it will not convert the songs. It just sits there and times out after 60 seconds. It might be a firewall issue but not sure. I will try in safe mode and see.
Sorry to ramble but that has been my experience.
