    Conversion problems
I've just started using Soundtaxi 4.2.1. My experience is it randomly stops converting m4b files to avi files. No error messages - all indications are of a complete, successful conversion. There's no way to know the conversions was incomplete is to actually manually check the converted audio to the unconverted audio to see how many minutes of audio each file contains. I've tried contacting their support multiple times but they do not respond. Support seems non-existent.

    Soundtaxi for Audible Conversions
Use to be great when you could reliably convert Audible's .aax format, but I think they're sabotaging their own software now from being able to convert an entire title. I say this based on the fact that I've tried three of their products: Soundtaxi, DRM Buster, and DRM Removal, and each one of them allowed me to successfully convert an Audible title when I first used them, but after exiting and rebooting my computer they would no longer work. I had a good firewall installed with I used the last one, DRM Removal, and it was then that I discovered the program has two other executables that attempt communication with the internet on exiting. As long as I had the firewall blocking them, the program continued to work fine for converting .aax files, even after multiple system reboots, but the one day I had to shut the firewall down for some reason and allowed those DRM Removal executives internet access - that was the day it stopped working for aax conversions.

    R&R Error after 30 songs
Im not sure if its the source of my media (Bearshare) or the fact that im running Windows 7, or that i used a key gen to re-register my copy after i reinstalled windows and lost the serial i originally bought, but i can only convert about 30, then i need to reboot my computer to continue converting, very annoying btw. However, conversions are quick, and I get no 2sec silence. This program is very good at handling subfolders and maintaining organization, as well as transfering all relevent metatag data.

    SoundTaxi R&R Error
Garbage. It worked for over a year for me. Now there''s no way to avoid audio-dropouts and Recovation & Renewal errors with SoundTaxi. They don''t support their products. AVOID. I have a 6-core system with 16gb of memory. If it doesn''t work with mine, it''s not going to work anyway.

    Sound Taxi Support
Thumbs Down on the support been waiting a month to get anything back from them about my activation code not working. Heaven forbid something breaks and you replace hardware and the system Id Change. you will be S.O.L. Software ran great untill I needed to get new hardware. If your thinking of buying make sure you only plan to use it till your current system dies

    Do not buy
Do not buy if you think your computer may ever crash because you will no longer be able use. I have been waiting for over 7 weeks after submitting 3 requests for an activation code without the courtesy of one reply.

    Support
I have been trying to get some support and no one ever returns my emails to help. I purchased Sound Taxi Professional and my Hard Drive went. I put in a new Hard Drive and reinstall my Sound Taxi CD but it doesn't recognize my new System ID # and it says it can only be used once. It has been going on for 4 months trying to get help from them to no avail. It was a waist of money. It is a shame b/c I really liked the product but the support sucks...

My experience with Soundtaxi (for what it's worth)
I bought late 2006 and it wouldn't transfer the tags. I have to say that they have improved the program a lot since then and are (NOW) more prompt with a response. It has always worked on WinXP. I jumped to Vista64 and the problems started. I am now using Win7x86 and have new problems (random blanks/skips in the converted file. The original does not have them. For a while about 2 out of 3 songs would be good if I converted them one at a time, ran nothing else, held my breath and didn't move. I have given up and moved on to Tunebite. Music is supposed to be fun and enjoyable and using a frustrating program is difficult.

    The support works GREAT
...at least the part I tried: I had to get a new serial for reinstallation and it took 19 minutes from I requested it till they had gotten back to me. EXCELLENT service and response time. THANKS SOUNDTAXI

    Clicks & Pops
my personal opinion is fairly picky i admit but throughout this one song i converted there are 3-4 clicks/glitches placed randomly in my song. all i wanted ST for was 1! special song i had made so i have a reason to be picky. how can i stop these random clicking noises from clitching my track? just keep converting it till i get a clean one?

    Soundtaxi
Be very carefull. It cant convert files properly. On top of that it may also destroy your original files. There is no support what so ever. Once you reinstall windows, you can not install the program without a new license, and Soundtaxi wont give you one. Try writing to support, and pretend that you have a problem, they wont answer. They only care about selling their programs

    poor customer support
SoundTaxi gives ZERO support. I purchased a download and the link did not work at all. They charged my card but I can not get any response from their customer support. It is useless. I would not purchase anything from these people. I'm seeking my money back after over 20 emails tothem w/o any return. ZERO support. Lots of equally good software in the market place.

SoundTaxi Skips at the begining of some tracks
I've had this problem and it took a while to figure this problem out, it's the newer versions of SoundTaxi that has this problem, I've switched to my WMAconverter which is the Original software and there are no skips at all and the problem with the RRinstaller.exe file can be fixed by using the properties tab of the software use the compatibility mode this is for the newer version the old version should not have this problem .....

Problems on Vista but great on XP
I ran the batch-mode software on a Vista machine, converting up to 10 files at a time on a dual-core with 4 gig. Unfortunately it converted MP3 files with infrequent but annoying bursts of static that seemed to be frequent tiny gaps in the recording, to judge by the slowing. Some book files were 5 minutes longer than their source file. I switched to converting to WMA and the problem was decreased, but not solved. I found it was always possible to convert 2 files at the same time and use the computer, with no impact on conversion quality. I could convert 3 at a time when the computer was idle. Then came Windows 7. Oh my god. Why the hell did I upgrade? Not that W7 is bad itself; the conversion was like watching your firstborn play on a tightrope for 8 hours, but it worked out in the end. However, SoundTaxi refuses to convert anything, saying its installation is corrupt. I have an old XP machine, so I moved it there. Unfortunately, the license codes work only on one machine. AND THEN I GOT A GOOD ANSWER! I decided to break down and buy a new copy for my XP machine, which is otherwise idle, but I bought the cheapest copy they have, the Platinum, which only converts two files at a time. BUT you can load up all your files at the same time! So as I type, the machine is sitting next to me, happily producing perfect book files at the rate of about one per hour. I own about 180 of them, so this time next week they will all be converted. So the Platinum, the cheapest, is the weapon of choice. It appears to work on both XP and Vista. And let it run!

Advice if program doesn''t work anymore
If the program quits working and suddenly asks for rights etc. like in the post below, you need to update your Windows. All service packs and security updates should be up to date, so does the Windows Mediaplayer, otherwise it might cause exactly the problems described. This is what the support told me when I ran into this at the beginning and it worked.
