Codec Free Fix for windows dropping DVD (mpeg-2) support and making one look around
I had a vicous root kit and wiped my computer an old one running XP 2003 ish win xp reinstall disc had no DVD latent codex as you got that with the media player 9 upgrade it was eligible for ... problem they discontinued media player 9 for xp and player 11 for xp is all that they offer which has no DVD codex so if you have to wipe an old machine that has working media player 9 find and save your DVD codex before you wipe it. it has a .ax extension ... otherwise you have to find a new Codex that works which this product does the price is right (free) and widows media player 9 is playing a DVD right now using it ... windows XP video decoder checkup utility says that this decoder is MP10 compliant ....hopefully 11 too but I won't be checking that ... all in all I am very satisfied with this product ... too bad it took me 6 hours to find it I first tried ffdshow codex but it wasn't compliant (waist of time)
