Hoping to use Photo Studio 5 with Vista
When I had XP I loved my Photo Studio 5 -- it was the only editing tool I would use. Now that I have a new computer with Vista, it won't work. I AM VERY FRUSTRATED. As someone else said, the program beginning with the letter A is too much, yet every other program I find is too little, too automatic. I LOVED the control I had with Photo Studio 5. SO, is it true there is a way to make it compatible with Vista and how do I do it??? Thanks!

ArcSoft Photo Studio 2000
I like this program, it was bundled with my CanoScan N1240U. I have a new PC with Vista and require new software. I would appear that ArcSoft 5.5 does not support Vista. I would appreciate your comments.

Do Arcsoft care???
I recently bought an HP Pavilion dv2000 note book and purchased a new Photo Studio 5 that I downloaded. It does not work as my new computer tells me that it does not support Photo Studio 5. I have sent an email asking Arcsoft for help - over a week ago to their own helpline address. They have ignored me. HP have done no more and as for Microsoft well, need I say anything about their reputation living up to their attitude... Do you know where else I can turn for assistance???

Now works with Vista
I have the older PhotoStudio 5 which I wasn't using until I recently changed my OS to Vista. It happens that ArcSoft has a free upgrade to make the program Vista compatible! One thing I really appreciate about it is the red eye removal tool which is about the best I've encountered. I find that the program has all the tools and features I need and is far better than some of the reviews I've read suggest. It is certainly at least as good as a few other photo editors I've tried, and it was bundled with a Canon scanner which made it a great bargain for me.

The Old ArcSoft PhotoStudio 5 is MUCH better than the new 5.5.
The new 5.5 version ( mine was a non-free disk ) unfortunately is a pain, more hands needed, less convenience with the clone & zoom features. It's even set up backwards sometimes with some editing commands. It's like Canon made changes simply for the sake of change, not improvement. Save your money and stick with the older (5) software.

Photo Studio
How does this new photo studio compare to the old one? I have the old one and I love it (old is 1996) I also have other photo programs that I just don't understand I would love to have the new photo studio if the basics are still the same, like the cloning tool etc. do they work the same. In most new programs they say they are improved but they change everything and its frustrating. thank you Sybil

ArcSoft 5.5
I have the free version of ArcSoft 5.5 that came with my Canon Camera. Outside of a few annoyances, I like it better then my expensive (I won't mention any industry leaders that begin with an “A”) programs. I can do everything I need to with little effort. For less then $50 it's a good buy. The Text Box could be better. The color pallet is too limited.
