Starport: Galactic Empires is the worst game ever created. I played for almost 2 years, and the game became more like a second job then being fun. Cleaning and putting up with assholes taking your colonies is all you do. After years of creating a galactic empire, I had hundreds of thousands of followers... Then a dickhead comes along and decides to take my colonies because he knows I can't fight well... I was merely a builder.

Don't wast your time. Good game in concept, but elite players/cheaters ruin it for EVERYONE. New servers are started all the time, but these players kill it off within a few weeks. The admins have no answer for this. Any comments about the game not being fair are absolutely true. I played this for about a year and did very well with it, but got tired of the idiots who killed vets like myself and newbies alike. The game became more like work than a game!

Don't Bother, this game is all about the cash. They do not enforce any form of fair play, the mechanics are designed so that you always have to buy more credits(using cash) and there are videos on how to hack this game on youtube. All in all, not free, don't bother.

This game is lame.. you can play it for 3 years and still have nothing to show for all your work. Toonces will randomly take admiral tokens ( money ) away from you at any time as well as experience. I haven't seen one good update from Toonces since I've played the game.

The Best Free Space MMo out there. This game has taken so much time in life life.......But it was worth it all!

Ive played starport off and on for 2 years now. It is a pretty good game, it goes through its ups and downs but if your lucky enough to get there during one of its good periods you will be very satisfied. Starport has the unique ability of controlling your player during combat instead of the usual automated combat where the player with the highest level and best equipment wins. When you first start out it will be pretty tough, because of this a lot of players quit soon after joining. But it will usually get easier after a while. When you first start out you should search around for an older but still active server. A lot of people starting out get caught in the rush of a new server bang where even the best players will be cut down repeatedly. It is constantly being updated and patched and as a result there have become a lot of bugs and in some cases the developers will release a radical change. However most bugs aren't that bad and the serious ones are usually fixed immediately. The radical changes often drive older players away but after a while even the oldest of players will get used to them and learn to adjust the way they play. Occasionally this is a good thing as it keeps us on our toes, and prevents new challenges. Overall I think this game is pretty good and deserves a little more prestige than it currently gets. I will probably continue to play for a long time to come.

Think of starport as of a budget version of EVE Online. Not so huge universes, simpler graphics, less players... But it is THE BEST FREE Sci-Fi MMO out there. It has good battle system, and even better economic colony building system. The game creators havent abandoned it, and there are frequent small updates that fix bugs and do minor balancing. The game community is friendly and communicable. Rebang servers give newbies nice chance to become top players, and permament servers give opportunity to slowly build big empire.

The person below me (annoyingly typing in caps) is pretty dissapointed in SPGE (Starport: Galactic Empires). Understandably. the developers have decided that the game needs balancing and thus they released some changes that caused a lot of the player's work to become obsolete. In a communication to the community the creator said he sympatizes (how many free games have this close contact?) but that it is all for the best. Disregarding the bad short-term effects of the recent changes we should look at the game objectively. It's by far the best free independent Sci-Fi mmo out there. And one of the best mmo's. There's a deep gameplay to be found, which remains challenging years into playing. The community is close, and surprisingly friendly considering the harsh (and fun) player versus player in the game. There is quite a steep learning curve (with which the community will gladly help) and the game can be fairly hard but it's all worth it in the end. So try it out, face some early dissapointments, adapt and find a real gem among free games.

THE CREATOR OF STARPORT, TOONCES, HAS RUINED THE GAME FOR ALL THE PLAYERS. THE WHOLE POINT OF STARPORT IS TO NOW SPEND 8+ HOURS ON THE GAME AND GET NOWHERE. THE GAME IS CALLED STARPORT GALACTIC EMPIRES, HOWEVER THE CREATOR DECIDED HE DOESNT LIKE PLAYERS HAVING EMPIRES, SO HE IS MAKING IT IMPOSSIBLE TO MAINTAIN ANYTHING MORE THAN 2 COLONIES. I HAVE PLAYED THIS GAME 2 YEARS, AND IT WAS A FUN GAME, SADLY NOW, THE CREATOR HAS RUINED THIS GAME. DONT PLAY THIS GAME IT IS A WASTE OF TIME.

i am a player on star port it is a very goo game for poeple to if they have a few free hours a day a mix of a chat room and mad game if you just want to talk it is good and if if you want play it is mad game for you i personaly play like 1-4 hours a day deppending what i have to do that day, if you arer worried about the chat you can turn it off same with the swear words you can block them a very good game to play loser
