ListIT is yet another software tool designed and tested in the field by ForensicTools. ListIT automates the process of capturing customised file lists, enabling a user to accurately capture the contents of a directory (including sub-directories) and export results to a file for further use.
Features include the ability to list files using customisable file extension filters, creating file hashes using popular algorithms such as MD5 and SHA, extracting file system attributes such as "hidden", "read only", etc. ListIT will also automatically extract meta-data from many popular file types such as Microsoft Office (including Office 2007 and 2010 32 bit), Outlook MSG files and Adobe PDF documents. Extracted metadata includes author, document creation date, document last printed date, number of attachments (if an email), last modification date and many more.
ListIT creates a full listing in an easily readable CSV file containing all of this information.
